Impressive ice swimming results

Twenty-five athletes took part in the competition, taking on the challenge of staying in icy water near 0°C. Their goal was not only to break their own records, but also to test the limits of physical and mental endurance. Each of them was under the constant care of paramedics, and the whole thing was supervised by Valerjan Romanovski, Guinness World Record holder and chief promoter of conscious ice swimming.

Extraordinary resilience and determination was demonstrated by Wojciech Pruński, who spent as much as 6 hours and 8 minutes in the ice ball! This achievement guaranteed him the title of Winner and aroused great admiration among both the participants and the gathered fans.

How to ice swimming, only consciously

The championship was not only sporting, but also educational. The purpose of the event was to popularize ice swimming in Poland and around the world, and to educate about safety and proper preparation for this type of challenge. The audience was able to learn more about the importance of conscious contact with the cold, the body’s reactions to extreme temperatures and how to safely return to normal body temperature.

Not only competition

During the championship there was also no shortage of attractions for the families of players and observers. Fans were able to take advantage of our saunas, Jacuzzi and ice baths. During the competition we prepared six aroma sessions and a relaxation area with hot drinks. In addition, those who wanted to could take part in workshops organized by experts from the Scottish Polar Bear Club – Fiona Chambers and Michael Kiernan, who led sessions in the Reset Zone.

The 2nd International Ice Swimming Championship of V. Romanovsky went down in history as an event full of excitement, challenges and inspiring moments. We are curious to see who will turn out to be the new record holder next year!
